Gorham Middle School Giving Garden

The Gorham Middle School garden was started as a hands-on, interdisciplinary, service-based learning project. Students learn about agriculture, biology, and environmental science while contributing to the community by growing fresh produce for those in need.

The Backpack Program

The BackPack Program helps Gorham students who are suffering from the effects of hunger with nutritious, easy-to-prepare food to eat during weekends and school vacations when those crucial school meals are unavailable. Please consider helping students experiencing food insecurity.

Fill the Fridge

In September 2023, the Roosevelt Room at Gorham High School received a generous donation of a standard- size refrigerator. On a daily basis, this fridge is utilized by the high school Backpack Program to keep fruits and other perishable items fresh until needed. In addition to the Backpack Program, our partnership with our high school kitchen staff has given us the opportunity to receive and store extra meals in our fridge for our students. Students independently serve themselves and can use our kitchenette to prepare their meals.

Summer Meal Program

Summer meal boxes provide students with staple meal items in a standard size file box to support food access for over the summer months when school breakfast and lunch is not available.  Students receive a box for the months of June, July and August.
